SUMMARY:Saturday Blast from the Past -- Always opening older vintages
DESCRIPTION:Most Saturdays we crack open a few older wines to sip\, savor and enjoy.  We can cover any category from dry to sweet.  The wine list will stay expanded with the new Max’s Small Batch Red No Number\, which was a hit yesterday\, and the newly coined Ruby Red\, which is a Southern Rhone Blend\, or mostly a Southern Rhone Blend or sort of a Southern Rhone Blend. \nHere are the Super Six Saturday EXTRA Tastings of older vintage wines at Turtle Run Winery today. Left to right goes dry to sweet. Let’s dig in! \nWe have Rhapsody in Red 2021 from our vineyard which is a primary blend of St. Croix and Frontenac. I haven’t tasted this wine in quite sometime\, so that’s why I selected it. \nChambourcin: A little older\, 2018. Again\, I haven’t tasted this wine in quite sometime\, and like Rhapsody\, Chambourcin from our vineyard only gets better with age. \nChardonel! Opened yesterday\, I can’t ID the vintage\, but wow! Lots of tasty esters. Like aged apples….. \nBarbera: This wine is from 2020 and like most of the reds from that year\, seemingly nothing fermented to dryness. This wine was a huge hit. Lots of deep berry notes I recall. \nSimply White. From 2020 too. This wine I know I have not tried in several years. Always a semi-sweet and with no added sugar\, they always age well. \nAnd on the sweet side\, the original Robin’s Revenge from 2018. Should be spectacular. I cannot believe how light colored it still is. \n
