No new fad for me. New studies are made and my thinking on various subjects change. As I type this in February 2025, I’ll give you several healthy aspects, or what I think are healthy aspects of my life. I think it is important to lead off that I take no medications. It’s been I think 20 years since I have had a prescription for anything. Also, I never get sick and I am around people all the time from customers to swimmers. I coach Providence High School’s swim team. I wear the same size pants that I wore in the 1980’s. I have no need to wear deodorant. I have had no dental issues since grade school. I think that should give you an idea. Nothing chronic going on with me. So what are my basics? First, I exercise every day, preferably swim with cycling my number 2. I do try to hit the weights weekly too. My meals are always natural. I just don’t eat processed foods. Never really have. We might be a little OCD, but our meats are locally sourced. All meals are designed around The Zone Diet, a balance of carbs, proteins and fats I drink plenty of tea. That’s my go-to beverage, green and black tea. I like the flavor and I like the anti-cancer properties. I consume coconut oil daily. It’s a really healthy fat. I eat plenty of fruit too. Rice is great, same with potatoes. I wish I liked sweet potatoes. Carrots are in the mix too. Cheese, of course. I do eat plenty of vegetables, but I don’t overdo vegetables. Spinach, kale, broccoli are higher on my list. Love honey. I drink at least one Fiji Water daily as it helps flush out metals from my body. I can explain in more detail. Two pillars of my health is I avoid like crazy foods that could contain glyphosate, a weed killer, so I don’t eat grains such as wheat, barley and oats. I avoid chickpeas too A big time avoidance is vegetable and seed oils. So if you think of a seed such as soybeans, grape seeds, canola seeds, sunflower seeds, safflower seeds and so forth, the oils made from them contain a large concentration of linoleic acid, which is highly inflammatory. Chronic inflammation suppresses the immune system and when the immune system is suppressed all sorts of negative health outcomes are on the table, so to speak. I hypothesize that if these oils never came into existence , we may not have heart disease, or you would hear of heart disease as something very rare. I’ll continue to post here when I have a few moments to spare. Feel free to ask me questions. Cheers, Jim
